Does T-Mobile provide a Reverse Cell Phone Directory?

Whose number is calling me? I’ve had that question before, along with anyone who owns the cell phone with a working number.

Thanks to telemarketers and spam callers, it is now a risk to answer your phone when an unfamiliar number calls. You might think “I should just answer the call”. But do you really want to?

Already this year, there have been over 60,000 reports of scam in the United States. The cost of these scams is estimated at over $50,000,000!

It is safe to say that you are putting yourself at risk if you pick up the phone to hear what an unknown caller has to say.

Tricksters such as telemarketers and con-artists have a basket of tactics that they will use to sell, deceive, and take what they haven’t earned.

So How Do You Lookup That T-Mobile Phone Number?

You want to be safe, which is smart. Yet you want to know who is calling you.

Whatever the reason, if you want to call the person back and/or if the number keeps harassing you, you may need to do some investigating.

Can T-Mobile Identify Who Owns A Cell Phone Number?

The first step to answering that question is to is to find out if you can get a Caller ID set up on your phone.

That way, most of the time you can find out who is calling you as soon as the phone starts ringing.

T-Mobile Name ID App

Rated: 3.5 Stars On Google Play

If you are a T-Mobile customer I’ve got some good news for you. T-Mobile has an app called T-Mobile name ID, and basically you can see who is calling you using the app- while they are calling you!

It is certainly an advantage to know who is calling you before you even pick up the phone.

The Caller ID tool is revolutionary because for T-Mobile customers, it means that you don’t have to go in search for the number on another source because the information is right on your phone as the phone rings.

Unfortunately, the T-Mobile name ID app is only available for Android phones. So, if you don’t have an Android phone you will be unable to download the app.

Cost And Analysis

Cost-

The service does have a fee and it’s $3.99 a month. If you do have an android phone it’s free for 30 days so you can give it a try at no cost to you.

Analysis-T-Mobile’s Name ID app can provide if it’s accessible:

Personal Number Blocking,
Reverse Phone Lookup
Caller ID

They can also tell you if it’s a possible scam number or telemarketer.

Side Note: There are some poor customer reviews on the app ( as shown earlier it only has 3.5 stars) so it might be worth it to consider not spending your money on the service. However, it wouldn’t hurt to try the month free trial to see how you feel about it.

What If I Don’t Have An Android Phone?

Without the App, you can get T-Mobile Name ID through your cell phone plan and have it be an extra benefit added to your account.

However, it won’t have all of the features that the app version provides.

Name ID works on iOS without the need for the App, but you only get the Caller ID feature. You don't get the other features the app offers like the reverse phone search, and it’s still $4 a month.

I am an iPhone user myself and I was sad to see that I could not get this app with my TMobile service plan. I’d also like to add that if you have if you aren’t a T-Mobile customer you don’t have access to this app, either.

Basically, T-Mobile’s Caller Id service is only a beneficial tool for customers who have Android phones.

So if you’re not a T-Mobile customer and need to lookup a phone number (and/or you don’t have an Android phone), T-Mobile won’t be of any service to you.

You can do the research yourself, but this can be time-consuming.

If you do feel like you can make the time there are a few places you can look.

Facebook has a great feature where you can lookup a number directly on their search bar and if it’s an associated with a Facebook profile you will see clickable information about that profile pop up.

You can also type in a phone number on Google and the results that are associated with that number will pop up.
