The short answer is Yes! But, there are very few actual FREE cell phone number lookup websites.

Many cell phone lookup websites on the World Wide Web claim that they are “Free” but in reality they are not. For instance, http://www.freecellphonelookups.com, says that they are a “Free cell phone lookups” website but if you try searching for a cell phone number you will quickly realize that they charge for their services. On January 25th, 2009, I did a cell phone number search at free cell phone lookups and here is the initial information that it gave me:

What am I going to do with this information?! Line Type? I don’t care what Line Type it is – I want to the know the name associated with the phone number. Valid Number? Of course it is a valid number – they just called me! Location? Not helpful – I want the name. Full Report? Available?? Let me guess, once I click “Available” it will take me to a page which as the name but I have to pay for it? Yep, you are correct! In my example, I clicked the “Available” link and it took me to http://www.reversephonedetective.com where I had to pay if I wanted the name associated with the cell phone number.

There are other websites out there that are very similar to freecellphonelookups.com claiming to be “Free” but I won’t go through all of them here. Just do some searches in Google and you will find them.
